NACIYE SULTAN WOODS

It is located on the hillside of the Istanbul Bosphorus between the quarters of Ortaköy and Kuruçeşme. Surrounded by upright heights on the west, the woods host vast prairies on the top. Occupying a surface area of 3,3 hectares, it is situated between Naile Sultan Woods and Halide Hanım Woods.

The first owner of the woods is Emine Naciye Sultan, the daughter of Prince Süleyman Selim, who was the son of Abdülmecid who is one of the Padishahs of the Ottoman Empire. Inside the woods there is a historical Mansion, which has reached the present day bearing the name Enver Paşa Villa.

Possessing the quality of a private property today, the Woods is not open to public. Luxurious villas and manors were built in the inner parts of the Woods and the Enver Paşa Villa was restored in 80’s. The buildings inside the Woods can be reached through the Portakal Slope. Monumental trees can be seen in the Woods including stone pine, calabrian pine, cupressus, redbud, silk trees.
