Istanbul University (IU) School of Economics Assoc. Dr. Murat Seker performed a "Quality of Life" survey in 39 districts of Istanbul.
According to the survey, the highest quality of life is in Besiktas. The list continues with Kadikoy, Bakirkoy, Sisli, Fatih.
Istanbul- Besiktas was also determined the most valuable district in terms of housing cost per square meter. It is followed by Sariyer and Kadıkoy.
Those who participated to the survey mostly complained about street noise, smallness of the houses, and lack of balcony or garden. Public services dissatisfying the participants are as follows: Closed parking, traffic, green space, parking areas, and struggle with air pollution.
According to the survey, the most important problems of Turkey are traffic, transportation, overpopulation, security, green space, air and environmental pollution, unplanned urbanization and refugees.
