Youth and Sports Day in Beşiktaş

Beşiktaş Municipality marked 19 May Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day with a full-day program of cultural, recreational, and sporting activities held at Cüneyt Arkın Sanatçılar Park. Bringing together residents of all ages, particularly young people and children, the celebrations offered opportunities for entertainment, social interaction, and community engagement throughout the day.

As part of the program, visitors enjoyed a variety of activities including sports competitions, interactive games, and entertainment areas. A PlayStation experience zone attracted significant interest from young participants, while table tennis and other recreational activities encouraged active participation and friendly competition. Refreshment stands also served visitors throughout the event.

The celebrations continued into the evening with a youth concert that brought music and energy to the park. A marching band performance followed, receiving enthusiastic applause from the audience. The program concluded with a screening of Zübeyde, Mothers and Sons (Zübeyde, Analar ve Oğullar), a film focusing on the life of Zübeyde Hanım and her son Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. The screening provided a meaningful and reflective finale to the day’s events.

Through a diverse program that combined sports, culture, and entertainment, Beşiktaş Municipality joined communities across Türkiye in celebrating the spirit of 19 May while highlighting the importance of youth participation, solidarity, and shared civic values.
