Theatre - Connecting People

An Erasmus+ Project Hosted by Beşiktaş Municipality

Beşiktaş Municipality successfully hosted the international training activity of the Erasmus+ KA210-ADU Project titled “Theatre: Connecting People” between 24–30 May 2025.

Coordinated by the Fundacja Cooperacja Association based in Poland, the project is implemented in partnership with Beşiktaş Municipality from Türkiye and Le Tre Ghinee Association from Italy, a cultural organization dedicated to promoting inclusion and empowerment among disadvantaged communities.

The primary objective of the project is to strengthen the competencies of adult educators who work with individuals displaced due to circumstances such as migration or natural disasters. Through the use of theatre as a means of integration, the initiative aims to foster empathy, intercultural dialogue, and social cohesion. The training brought together 15 participants representing Türkiye, Poland, and Italy.

Throughout the program, participants engaged in interactive sessions and workshops that focused on the practical use of theatre in adult education. Key topics included intercultural communication strategies, psychosocial challenges faced by marginalized individuals, and innovative methods for supporting adaptation and inclusion processes through artistic expression.

As part of the training, a study visit was conducted to the Marmara Municipalities Union, where participants were informed about best practices and local government initiatives in the field of migration and integration.

The program also welcomed Mr. Dariusz Gumieniczek, Vice Consul of the Republic of Poland in Istanbul, who visited the training venue and held discussions with participants.

At the conclusion of the training activity, funded in full by the European Union under the Erasmus+ Programme, participants were presented with certificates of attendance in recognition of their active participation and contributions.
