Renovation of Public Spaces in Beşiktaş

Within the framework of the transformation project implemented with the support of Beşiktaş Municipality and in cooperation with Akkök Holding and Fixers' Club, the walking track known as the German Stream in Beşiktaş has been renovated. “Movement and Community Area” has been added to the area, which is located on the German Stream Trail next to Cüneyt Arkın Sanatçılar Park and had previously lose its function.

In line with the “Dialogue” theme and the goal of giving an identity to our park, urban furniture designs and surfacing applications has been carried out. The opening ceremony of Movement and Community Area on Saturday taken place on the 1st October, has featured colourful moments accompanied by DJ performances throughout the day. The ceremony, which started with Onaran Yoga’s day greeting activity and with Orkun Kargöz, continued with a bird's nest making workshop for the park. The national basketball player Sinan Güler has watched the basketball game in which the players have showed their talents to win surprise gifts.

Beşiktaş Mayor Rıza Akpolat has made the following statement: “We continue our efforts to make the public spaces in Beşiktaş according to the requirements of the modern-day, to offer them to our neighbours, as well as to open new public spaces for them. We are very happy to add a new one to these public areas.”

Akkök Holding’s Executive Board Chairman Ahmet Dört has expressed his happiness to be renovating one of the most important green areas in Istanbul with an understanding of sustainability: “We are grateful to the Fixers’ Club and Beşiktaş Municipality for their support regarding our cooperation at the German Creek Trail.”
