The "Plastic Hunters - Istanbul Project," which will recycle more than 60 tons of paper, cardboard, and metal, as well as more than 65 tons of plastic packaging each year, has been implemented with the cooperation of Beşiktaş Municipality, WWF-Turkey, and Istanbul Brand Conference, and with the support of Yapı Kredi World.
30 new recycling bins manufactured by İBB subsidiary İSTON were installed in specific areas in response to the demands of the Beşiktaş residents as part of the project. The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Department of Parks, Gardens, and Green Spaces Areas supported the project intending to decrease and recycle Istanbul's plastic waste, with the "Green Istanbul Project," by designing recycling bins on which advertisements may be placed. It is envisaged that the advertising income generated by the new design will be used in maintenance and increase the number of recycling bins. The goal is to raise the number of containers to 70 bins next year with additional business alliances.
