A Musical Gathering Highlighting Türkiye–Japan Cultural Ties

A guitar recital by the distinguished Japanese artist Haruna Miyagawa was held on 14 November at the Akatlar Cultural Center, in cooperation between the Consulate General of Japan in Istanbul and Beşiktaş Municipality. The event drew strong interest from Beşiktaş residents and many music enthusiasts from across the city with an appreciation for Japanese culture. The recital was attended by senior representatives of both institutions, reflecting the shared commitment of the Consulate General and Beşiktaş Municipality to fostering cultural exchange.

In his opening remarks, Consul General Ryoji Iwama expressed his sincere hope that the recital would contribute to further deepening the longstanding friendship between Japan and Türkiye. His presence added particular significance to the evening, underscoring the value of cultural exchange and artistic collaboration between the two countries.

Haruna Miyagawa offered the audience an intimate musical journey with her refined technique, expressive interpretations, and mastery of the classical guitar. Her performance reflected both her distinctive artistic style and elements of Japan’s rich musical heritage, leaving a lasting impression on attendees.

Beşiktaş Municipality reaffirmed its commitment to advancing cultural cooperation with the Consulate General of Japan. Both institutions emphasized that such meaningful events — strengthened by the unifying power of art and culture — will continue to deepen the bonds of friendship between Japan and Türkiye in the coming period.
