Mayor Rıza Akpolat Participated in the 43rd Istanbul Marathon!

Being the only intercontinental marathon in the world, the Istanbul Marathon was run for the 43rd time in Istanbul on Sunday, November 7, 2021.The Beşiktaş Mayor Rıza Akpolat also participated in the marathon, which was held with the participation of 40 thousand people.

Organized by Spor Istanbul, a subsidiary of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, and sponsored by N Kolay, the 43rd Istanbul Marathon attracted a great deal of attention from citizens. In spite of the foggy weather, many citizens including young and old people participated in the marathon and enjoyed the intercontinental run. A Ugandan male athlete Victor Kiplangat and a Kenyan female athlete Sheila Jerotich won the 43rd Istanbul Marathon, which started in the Anatolian side and ended on the European side.

Participating in the marathon with his chest number 1903, the Beşiktaş Mayor Rıza Akpolat stated that the marathon was enjoyed by all the participants in a festive mood. "We participated in this amazing marathon, one of the most prestigious sports organizations in the world, together with our Party Leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, IYI Party Leader Meral Akşener and the Istanbul Metropolitan Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu. Beşiktaş was spectacular!" he said.
