Mayor Akpolat Visited the Blue Panda Boat Moored in Beşiktaş!

The Beşiktaş Mayor Mr. Rıza Akpolat paid a visit to the Blue Panda boat that has been sailing from France and arrived in Beşiktaş with a view to call attention to the plastic pollution at seas and to achieve more protection for them. The voyage of the boat, which will stay anchored in Istanbul from September 13 to September 28, is aimed at creating awareness about sea pollution and nature pollution in general and at motivating people.

Always expressing his determination to support any kind of projects and activities to protect the nature and raise consciousness about pollution throughout his term of office, Beşiktaş Mayor Akpolat visited the boat that set off from France and travelled all around the world to draw attention to pollution. Mr. Akpolat was accompanied by his wife Mrs. Derya Akpolat and their children during the visit.

MAYOR AKPOLAT: “WE ARE GOING TO TAKE THE LEAD IN RECYCLING OF WASTES AND STRUGGLING AGAINST PLASTIC POLLUTION’’

Mayor Akpolat wrote his thoughts in the journal on the boat saying; “We are going through a period where environmental awareness is seriously needed. I would like to extend my thanks to the WWF family who show this awareness and take it to a worldwide level. As the Beşiktaş Municipality, we are determined to lead in recycling of wastes and struggling against plastic pollution through cooperation”.
