Stray animals brought to the Municipality’s Spay and Rehabilitation Center are first examined by veterinary professionals. Microchip scans are conducted to determine whether an animal has an owner. Animals confirmed to be unowned undergo thorough health checks, including necessary medical treatments or surgical interventions. Rabies vaccination and internal and external parasite treatments are completed, and animals without microchips are registered through microchipping in the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry’s Animal Protection Information System (HAYBİS).

Once the rehabilitation and treatment process is completed, animals are carefully prepared for adoption. Citizens wishing to adopt apply to Beşiktaş Municipality and are asked to submit the required documentation as part of the adoption procedure. Following approval, an official Pet Passport is issued, and the animal is handed over to its new family with all legal and medical records in place, ensuring a safe and responsible transition.
