A Cultural Talk: The Story of Istanbul

Within the scope of the 65+ Life Office activities, Beşiktaş Municipality organized a cultural talk titled “The Story of Istanbul”, bringing together residents interested in the city’s rich historical and cultural heritage. The event was held at the Zübeyde Ana Culture and Arts Center and offered participants an engaging journey through the many layers of Istanbul’s past.

The talk was delivered by the well-known tour guide and travel writer Yıldırım Büktel, who shared insights into the historical development of the city, its landmarks, and the stories that shaped Istanbul over centuries. Through his narration, participants had the opportunity to explore the city’s cultural memory and better understand how history, architecture, and everyday life intertwine in one of the world’s most remarkable cities.

Organized as part of Beşiktaş Municipality’s lifelong learning and cultural engagement activities, the event also created a welcoming environment for senior residents to come together, exchange experiences, and deepen their connection with the shared heritage of Istanbul.
