Beşiktaş Students Learn About Zero Waste and Recycling

As part of the “Zero Waste and Environmental Awareness Trainings” organized in cooperation with the Beşiktaş District Directorate of National Education, Beşiktaş Municipality met with students of Şair Mehmet Emin Yurdakul Primary School. The program aimed to raise awareness among young generations about environmental protection, sustainable consumption, and the importance of waste reduction.

During the training sessions delivered by the Municipality’s Climate Change and Zero Waste Directorate, students were informed about waste separation, recycling processes, and how everyday actions can contribute to protecting nature. Through interactive presentations and discussions, pupils gained a better understanding of how recyclable materials can be transformed and reused, helping to reduce environmental impact.

With these educational activities, the program contributed to increasing zero waste awareness among more than 1,000 students across the district. Participants were also introduced to the “Recycle & Win” mobile application, which encourages residents to recycle packaging waste, glass, textiles, e-waste, and used vegetable oils, supporting a more sustainable and environmentally conscious community.
