Beşiktaş Municipality has held The Festival Against Ecological Destruction in cooperation with UCTEA The Chamber of Environmental Engineers on the 5th of June, World Environment Day.
Putting forward many sustainability activities to raise environmental awareness, Beşiktaş Municipality has organized The Festival Against Ecological Destruction in Sanatçılar Park with the cooperation of UCTEA The Chamber of Environmental Engineers, the İstanbul branch. Beşiktaş residents and İstanbul citizens has showed a great interest to the festival where the message of “We are all together against ecological destruction” is given. While concerts, workshops, forum, interviews and exhibitions have been taking place, the visitors have been able to visit the booths of associations and publishing throughout the festival.
The festival that started with various types of workshops for both kids and adults, has continued with forum and interviews. During the festival where environment-themed photography and art exhibitions have met with the audience, the booths of many associations and NGOs have given information to the visitors.
The Festival Against Ecological Destruction has continued with the concerts of Erdal Bayrakoğlu, Baba Zula and Yeni Türkü in the evening. The listeners have immensely had fun with the beloved songs of the artists. At the end of the program, the artists participating in the festival have expressed their appreciation to Beşiktaş Municipality and Mayor Rıza Akpolat for organizing such a pleasant event. Plaques for sapling donations made by our municipality to Tema Foundation were presented to all artists participating in the festival.
