Disabled Equipment Repair Service Project

Disabled Equipment Repair Service Project

Beşiktaş Municipality is launching the “Disabled Equipment Repair Service” project. Beşiktaş Mayor Rıza Akpolat announced the “Disabled Equipment Repair Service” project. In this project, maintenance and repair works of equipment for people with disabilities in Beşiktaş will be carried out by the municipal teams. In line with the requests received by the call centre at 444 44 55, our teams will go to the doorstep of our neighbours to detect faults and, if possible, carry out on-site repairs. If the wheelchairs cannot be repaired on site, they will be picked up by our support vehicle, taken to our workshops and repaired as soon as possible and returned to their owners.

“Beşiktaş Living without Barriers”

Beşiktaş Mayor Rıza Akpolat’s promise before the 31 March Local Elections, “Living Beşiktaş” projects are being realised. Sharing the details of the project, Mayor Rıza Akpolat said, “Dear Neighbours, today I am very proud and happy to introduce the ‘Disabled Equipment Repair Service Project’, which is a concrete example of our principle of solidarity and social municipalism as Beşiktaş Municipality. Since the day we came to office, we have been making an intense effort to ensure that each of our citizens can receive equal services and fully participate in all areas of life. We want to alleviate the difficulties experienced by our disabled citizens and enable them to take a more active role in social life. This vision is at the centre of our understanding of municipalism, which we have promised as Beşiktaş Living without Barriers. However, the economic conditions in our country also cause the maintenance cost of disabled vehicles to increase day by day.”

“We Will Build a Beşiktaş Where Everyone Has Equal Rights”

Referring to the details of the “Disabled Equipment Repair Service Project”, Mayor Akpolat stated, “With this project, in line with the requests received by our call centre, the teams will go to the doorstep of our neighbours to determine the malfunction and, if possible, carry out on-site repairs. If the wheelchairs cannot be repaired on site, they will be picked up by our barrier-free support vehicle, taken to our workshops and repaired as soon as possible and returned to their owners. Our disabled equipment repair service will not only make the lives of our disabled individuals easier, but will also raise awareness in the society and will be an important step towards building a Beşiktaş where everyone has equal rights. We are here to eliminate all obstacles and create an accessible Beşiktaş for everyone.”
