Beşiktaş Municipality is preparing to realise the “Project Point”, one of the promises of Beşiktaş Mayor Rıza Akpolat for the 2024-2029 term. The Project Point is going to be active in the Tourist Information Office located on Beşiktaş Çırağan Street.
The project is going to provide service as a centre where young people can develop their project ideas, receive information and support on international projects. Through this innovative centre in Beşiktaş, young people are going to have the opportunity to develop effective projects at national and global level and are going to receive trainings on Erasmus+ project writing attended by the non-profit organisations and youth workers. Thanks to the Project Point, young people who have no experience in Erasmus+ projects are going to have the chance to take part in project simulations. In addition to informative activities on the European Solidarity Corps (ESC), training sessions towards preparing motivation letter and Europass CV are going to be organised.
The new centre is going to reinforce Beşiktaş’s identity as a student town and provide a valuable opportunity for young people between the ages of 18 and 30. The Mayor of Beşiktaş, Rıza Akpolat, expressed his hope that young people will make the most of these new opportunities offered in Beşiktaş and highlighted the importance of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk’s words, “All my hope is in the youth”, emphasising the crucial role young people will play as leaders and change makers in the future. Rıza Akpolat made the following statements in the video he published on the subject:
“Dear Youth,
Today, I would like to announce an important development that will provide you with valuable contributions to your life journey. As promised, we are opening the Project Point in Beşiktaş. Beşiktaş is a large student district with nine universities and many schools. Here, we bring youth between the ages of 18-30 together with people and organisations that carry out youth work.
In the Project Point, we are going to provide you consultancy services on European Union Erasmus+ projects, in particular the European Solidarity Corps. We will also support you to generate project ideas at national and global level by providing face-to-face meetings with our expert project coordinators. You are always welcomed at the Project Point to benefit from this support that we hope will make a difference in your future.
Remember, Beşiktaş belongs to all of us. As you build your future, we are committed to doing everything we can to bring you joy and inspiration.”
