Beşiktaş Enters into a New Era in the Fight Against the Coronavirus!

As soon as the coronavirus outbreak started spreading massively, the Beşiktaş Municipality carried into effect our ‘Public Health Digital Management Center’ through which we organize all our efforts from a single center. The Beşiktaş Mayor Mr. Rıza Akpolat said that this center will be actively operating in cases of disasters, outbreaks, earthquakes and any situation related to public health. 

Starting disinfection activities everywhere in our district including schools, launching online service systems and establishing a crisis center in this context with the spread of the coronavirus pandemic throughout the world; our municipality has now brought along a new dimension in the fight against the Covid-19 with the suggestion of our Mayor Mr. Rıza Akpolat.

Stating that the struggle against the pandemic threat will be organized from a single center thanks to our new Public Health Digital Management Center; Mayor Akpolat said: “We have carried out many efforts since the very first days when the news about the New Coronavirus started spreading globally. As the Beşiktaş Municipality, we had already started disinfecting the schools within our district before the end of January and established our crisis center. We improved our online services. We prepared our hygiene kits for our elderly citizens when it was not even on the global agenda. We are at a new stage at the moment. We will continue our fight against the Covid-19 through our Public Health Digital Management Center, which has a digital infrastructure capable of operating even in cases of disasters, outbreaks, earthquakes and any situation that threatens public health. Thanks to this center, we will be able to perform crisis communication, administration and inter-institutional coordination from a single center. All the data relating to our district flowing through this center will be processed here; risk groups and areas will be determined. This way, we will be able to operate in a much more effective way. And personally I will be performing the coordination of all our units from this center day and night. We are here, doing our job for our citizens. And I am sure that we will succeed altogether in the light of science, mind and technology.”
