Beşiktaş and Budapest District II Have Become Sister Cities

The sister city protocol between Beşiktaş Municipality and Budapest District II has been signed. The intermunicipal agreement was signed by Beşiktaş Mayor Rıza Akpolat and Budapest District II Mayor Őrsi Gergely.

Hungary’s Budapest District II Municipality and Beşiktaş Municipality became sister cities with the signatures of the mayors.

Beşiktaş Mayor Rıza Akpolat and Budapest District II Mayor Őrsi Gergely exchanged their ideas about interurban problems and their solutions. With the signing of the protocol, both municipalities are going to come up with new projects and collaborations regarding culture-art, social support and new municipalism.

Expressing his happiness of adding a new one to the sister city list, Beşiktaş Mayor Rıza Akpolat has made a speech with the following words: “Beşiktaş’s international presence is getting stronger thanks to the new and prominent collaborations. Budapest District II and Beşiktaş are now sister cities.”

Following the meeting, the two mayors have visited Gül Baba Tomb and Museum located in Budapest District II.  After that, the mayors had a conversation with Gülşen Karanis Ekşioğlu, the Ambassador of Budapest, regarding the Turkish-Hungarian Culture Year.
