Atatürk Outdoor Gallery, brought to the boulevard from Dolmabahçe to Ortaköy about 20 years ago by Beşiktaş Municipality, has been renewed. Dolmabahçe - Beşiktaş, the first phase of the outdoor exhibition consisting of two parts, has been presented to the public on the 84th death anniversary of Atatürk on 10th November.
Atatürk Outdoor Gallery is renovated by Beşiktaş Municipality with the support of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality and IMM Heritage, on the boulevard starting from Dolmabahçe Palace, where the founder of the Turkish Republic, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk passed away. Renewed with the concept of “Atatürk in Dolmabahçe”, the photo gallery is based on the theme of Mustafa Kemal Pasha and Istanbul. Selection photos in chronological order are based on a national story starting from Dumlupınar in 1927 to the last respects paid to Atatürk in 1938. Infrastructure and technical implementation of the gallery have been carried out by Beşiktaş Municipality and the system is equipped with climate-friendly and energy-efficient lighting equipment.
Beşiktaş Mayor Rıza Akpolat made the following statement on the subject: “Atatürk Outdoor Gallery has been exposed to harsh weather conditions for many years, and it has gotten deformed as a result. Atatürk Outdoor Gallery, the longest-lasting outdoor exhibition that İstanbul ever witnessed is being renovated right now. I would like to extend my gratitude to Ekrem İmamoğlu, the Mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, as well as to the IMM Heritage teams. As Beşiktaş Municipality, we have been hosting this outdoor exhibition for many years, in which the close relationship of Türkiye’s leader, Veteran Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, with Istanbul is depicted. In one of the busiest main arteries of Istanbul; we are pleased that this outdoor gallery, where every passerby gets emotional, is renewed in accordance with its sentimental value and that it meets the public with a new face.”
