We Care for Our Buddies 24/7

The working hours of the Directorate of Veterinary Services affiliated to our municipality have been updated as 7 days and 24 hours. Beşiktaş Mayor Rıza Akpolat announced that the Directorate of Veterinary Services will now provide service 24/7: "We will not leave our dear friends alone in cold winter days with our increased number of personnel."

Beşiktaş Municipality’s Directorate of Veterinary Services that implemented many practices and field work related to stray animals will be providing their services 24/7 from now on. Every notice made to our team is evaluated with great care. Our little buddies trying to survive in these cold winter nights will find our veterinary team right beside them.

The Beşiktaş Mayor Rıza Akpolat has announced the new service through the video shared on social media: “Not only we are sharing our city with stray animals, but we also share our whole life with them. At the seaside, on the streets, in cafes, we see our dear friends wherever we turn our heads in Beşiktaş. We have done a lot of work for our little buddies. In order to protect the right to life of stray animals and to raise common life awareness, we have placed warning signs at more than 150 points in our district. We evaluated 30,000 notifications from our neighbours in two years. We touched the lives of 18,000 stray animals with our MOBIVET Animal Ambulance service with six vehicles. We distributed 20 tons of food.

By opening the Disabled Cat Unit, we gave Beşiktaş a space where the disabled cats are treated compassion and love. The doors of our Disabled Cat Unit are always open for our volunteers who take care of our dear friends with disabilities such as vision loss, loss of balance and paralysis. I would like to share the good news with you in these difficult days. We have updated the working hours of our Veterinary Affairs Directorate to 24 hours and 7 days a week. For this reason, we have increased the number of our personnel and we will be with our dear friends 24/7. In addition to all these, we have started a neutering campaign for stray animals to live in healthy and good conditions. We continue to make efforts for the sterilization of stray animals. We will continue to stand by our little buddies with whom we share life in Beşiktaş."
