Field Solution Service in Beşiktaş

Thanks to the Field Solution Service of Beşiktaş Municipality, our teams have managed to conduct field trips to 93,540 houses, 10,816 workplaces/public spaces. During the pandemic, Beşiktaş Municipality’s field solution teams have distributed 14,000 food parcels, 430,000 portions of hot meal, 3 millions of masks and 104,356 disinfectants.

With Beşiktaş Municipality initiating the Field Solution Service, our young and dynamic team consisting of experts in their fields at the service of Beşiktaş residents in all our neighborhoods. Our Field Solution Team distributes masks and disinfectants in the neighbourhoods of Beşiktaş in groups of two. In line with the social distancing rules, our teams tell our neighbours about our projects, conducts surveys, listens to the problems and notes down the demands. While our teams pay visits Beşiktaş's households and workplaces one by one, the Mayor Rıza Akpolat also gets together with the shopkeepers and the residents of Beşiktaş.

Our team, which delivers bags with masks, disinfectants and Beşiktaş' Urban Culture Magazine B+ in them, records the demands and suggestions of the Beşiktaş residents. Besides, brochures containing all the works of Beşiktaş Municipality since 2019 have been prepared specifically for the designated neighbourhood and delivered to our neighbours. Mayor Rıza Akpolat, who visits the shops and listens to the problems and demands directly, has announced that the related issues will be resolved as soon as possible, and that he will personally follow up each subject.

Apart from informing the Beşiktaş residents about the services given during the pandemic and the upcoming projects to be implemented, Mayor Rıza Akpolat has also stated that they have initialized a comprehensive field work: "Leaving essential bags at the doors is not the only thing we are doing with this movement. We also try to detect the needs of each Beşiktaş citizen and take action accordingly, and develop the plan based on this data. We will visit all corners of Beşiktaş step by step with our expert teams. When we look closely, we can see that the citizens have two primary needs. The first is that our citizens would like to see that they are not alone in this pandemic. Secondly, they seriously need basic hygiene materials. We meet all kinds of needs with our work, and we also visit each house and street in Beşiktaş, strengthening the solidarity."

Mayor Rıza Akpolat has continued his speech with these words: “We are living in Beşiktaş together. We will continue to visit the neighbourhoods in Beşiktaş and give masks and disinfectants to our neighbours. We have already been disinfecting the hazardous places, and we will continue to do so. As the mayor of Beşiktaş, I will also be accompanying to our field solution teams visiting our neighbours. I will visit all the 23 neighbourhoods in Beşiktaş, no street in Beşiktaş will be left unheard. We will succeed this together. If we are here, we are here together.”

In the field studies carried out by our Field Solution Team during 65 working days:

• Identified 1226 families in need

• Received 1661 social assistance requests

• Received 7379 requests, 6534 of them were fulfilled promptly

• Visited 10,816 workplaces and 93,540 households; made a total of 104,356 residential visits

• Distributed 2,446,660 masks and 104,356 disinfectants

• Visited 23 neighborhoods; walked 18,525 km; climbed 713.830 stairs

• Conducted a comprehensive survey with 7999 people.

• Interviewed 1478 apartment workers for a socio-occupational survey

• Visited 43 coffee houses and tea shops in a week.

• Visited 43 mosques, 12 churches, 1 cemevi, 1 synagogue in a week; visited 57 places of worship in total.

• Visited 77 Non-Governmental Organizations in two weeks.
