Beşiktaş Municipality has been holding the Beşiktaş International Contemporary Sculpture Symposium for many years. This year’s Symposium, held on April 9 – 30, 2017 at the Ortaköy Vadi, ended last Saturday.
The coordinator of the Symposium was Özlem Alıcı and the curator was Kemal Tufan.
10 sculptors – 4 from Turkey and 6 from abroad – took part in the Beşiktaş International Contemporary Sculpture Symposium this year. Contributing a lot to the contemporary identity of the city, the marble sculptures made by the Artists will be left to the future generations as crucial cultural and artistic heritage, which will survive thousands of years. The works of art modeled throughout the Symposium will be situated in the parks and squares in Beşiktaş.
