The Beşiktaş Municipality continues bringing together young people with European Union projects.
The KA1 Learning Mobility of Young People Project titled “Moving”, of which our Municipality is a project partner and funded by the European Union, was carried out in Spain’s Malaga on April 5-14, 2019.
Our Municipality was represented by four youngsters and a group leader at this youth project, which brought together 35 young people from Spain, Italy, Romania, The Republic of North Macedonia, Poland, Ukraine and Turkey.
All the expenses of the participants were covered by the EU. Through the Project, participating young people taught each other different kinds of sports and street games popular in their home countries. These enjoyable events provided the youngsters with the opportunity to meet new people and make new friends and also to get to know about each other’s cultures and customs. The Project also enabled our representatives to promote our country and culture to people from other European countries.
The youngsters having successfully accomplished the Project that was carried out in the English language were entitled to receive the internationally recognized Youthpass certificate.
After the project, the participants from our Municipality were received by the Beşiktaş Mayor Mr. Rıza Akpolat and they presented a scarf symbolizing the City of Malaga in order to extend their thanks to our Mayor and Municipality who offered them this opportunity.
